PARKING & TRANSPORATATION

This event is a 15min walk from the Orange line train (Green St. Station), 3min walk from the 39 bus (Centre St & Saint John St stop).

Jamaica Pond does not have on-site parking close to the bandstand. We encourage attendees to use public transportation or Uber/Lyft when possible. If driving to the event, please arrive early to give yourself time to find parking nearby. The bandstand is located near the intersection of Jamaicaway and Pond Street. There is a small lot nearby at 11 Thomas Street, Jamaica Plain (City of Boston lot #6). You may be able to find parking on some nearby streets such as Green St., Seaverns Ave., Rockview St. and Lochstead Ave.

BATHROOMS

Bathrooms are available inside the boathouse as well as porta johns.

WEATHER POLICY

The event is rain or shine, unless conditions are unsafe (lightning or heavy winds). If the event is postponed due to weather, we will email all walk registrants and post a notice on this website.

SILENT AUCTION

Bidding for the silent auction opens at 12:00 PM. Winners will be announced during the award ceremony after the walk.  You must be on-site after the walk to collect your item. If you're interested in donating a gift basket or gift card for the auction, give us a call at 631-202-1720 or email events@dysautonomiainternational.org.

REFRESHMENTS

Salty snacks and drinks will be provided but we strongly suggest you bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. There is a water fountain nearby.  Outside food and beverage is not allowed on the stadium field.

SEATING & SHADE

There are places to sit on-site in the sun or the shade but we encourage participants to bring lawn/camping chairs or a picnic blanket to sit on. POTS patient pro tip: a picnic blanket is much easier than dragging a chair around, plus you can lay down on a blanket.

PET POLICY

This is a public park and well-behaved pets on leashes are allowed.

PRIZE RULES

To count towards the individual or team fundraising prize, cash/check donations must be received by Dysautonomia International's main office (PO Box 596, East Moriches, NY 11940) by 5pm on October 23rd, or dropped off at the walk check-in desk by 12:30 PM on walk day. Be sure to include a note indicating that the donation is for your individual fundraising page or team.

Individuals/Team Captains can only win one fundraising prize. If the individual with most funds raised is also the Team Captain of the team with most funds raised, they will win the Team Prize and an alternate winner will be chosen for the individual prize.

Please note that all prizes will be presented at the race or shipped to winners in the continental US at no charge. If a winner would like a prize shipped anywhere outside of the continental US, the winner will be responsible for shipping fees. Final decisions on the winner from each category will be decided by Dysautonomia International.
